One can enter through here or through another, smaller, patio accented with an old olive tree which leads to the ancient ‘Zaguan’. Off this patio, with the soothing sound of a fountain in the background, is a secluded bedroom with en suite unique Hammam-style bathroom. Through the ‘Zaguan’ we enter the hall, built-in cloakroom, guest toilet and wine cellar. Past the reception room there is a vast lounge with a fireplace, an exquisite French mirror from the 1800’s and a baby grand piano. The entire south side of the house has a covered veranda which provides ample shade during long summer days. Different seating areas presents beautiful views over the valley towards the sea. The professional kitchen has soaring ceilings and a weathered century old cherry wood table that comfortably seats 10 in front of a raised fireplace. Double doors open up to various terraces, all with seating areas overlooking the lush gardens. Up some stairs there is a well stocked library with a dining table that seats 6. Vistas from different patios and a small enclosed herb garden with an intricate pattern of ‘canto rodados’ in the old traditional way ensures interesting views. Adjacent to the big Patio, with a separate entrance, there is one more bedroom with ample wardrobe space. The upper floor is divided in two wings by a second lounge. One side houses the former master bedroom with en suite dressing room and bathroom with a claw foot free-standing bath tub and a 60cm rain shower. The other side contains 2 more suites with built in wardrobes, one with an inviting fireplace, and a shared bathroom with double showers and a claw foot bath. All rooms have balconies overlooking the patios with sweeping sea, mountain or country views. In the garden through a wrought iron gate we enter a private patio with its own seating area and fountain. A separate guest suite overlooks the Alhambra inspired vegetable garden with apple, fig trees and fountain. The en-suite bathroom overlooks the glistening water reflected on the turquoise tilled pool. Walking over the impeccably maintained lawn with scattered palm trees we come to the BBQ area and an impressive 15m, heated, salt-water pool. The pool house offers a welcome shade and has soft towelled sofas for lazy afternoons. Hidden behind a foliage of green there is a secret shower carved within the rocks with a separate toilet. AguaDulce has been designed to ensure privacy for each of its guests. Sheltered areas for sunning, reading or simply dreaming away are scattered throughout the property.
